When it’s not safe to be alone for physical or cognitive reasons, the first choice of most people is to stay in their own home and bring in the additional help rather than move to a facility, especially when Alzheimer’s or dementia is involved. Live-In Care also happens to make the best sense economically in most cases as shown in our Care Options & Costs section. Driving errands, doing laundry and cooking meals requires one set of skills but helping someone manage their life each day is a significant responsibility we take very seriously.
Our stable, long time staff of Live-in Caregivers have worked for us an average of 4-5 years, and are typically mature women with grown families that often started caregiving as a secnd career. Their commitment is personal and as professional Caregivers, they are dedicated to making each day a positive one while developing a long term relationship with their very special clients. With the support and guidance of our Care Managers, our Caregivers help our live-in clients stay as independent as possible and enjoy their homes for as long as they desire.
In a Live-In Care scenario our Caregivers stay in the home with our client. Usually this is done with 2 person teams, a 5 day per week primary Caregiver and a 2 day per week relief Caregiver. It remains the same team each week unless changes are desired which can be accommodated at any time.
