Meds 298pxAccording to the Torrance Police Department, the Los Angeles Field Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has announced the National Take-Back Initiative to help us safely dispose of the old prescription drugs in our cabinets that are no longer being used.

Simply drop them off at our local CVS 4235 on PCH this Saturday, April 26th 2014 from 10AM to 2PM. Remember, no syringes or over-the-counter medications – prescription drugs only!

Why do we need to minimize the storage of unused prescription drugs in our cabinets? To keep them out of the wrong hands whether it’s someone with Alzheimer’s or Dementia, children, or family members who abuse drugs. The CDC reports that in 2008 there were 14,800 overdose deaths, which is more than heroin and cocaine deaths combined. Take action and protect your loved ones this weekend!
