The Caring Sister Team of Karen & Kim

The Palos Verdes office of HomeLife Partners was started by the sister team of Karen Galas and Kim Fisher who are part of The Senior’s Choice Network, a leading provider of elder care services since 1985.

Kim is a seasoned health care service provider, having become a Respiratory Therapist in 1986. She went on to co-found The Healthcare Group, a highly successful organization which provided oxygen, physical rehabilitation and pharmacy services to over 150 Southern California hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. Karen has held senior management positions in local Fortune 500 companies such as Denso California, a Toyota company, and ITT Industries. She specialized in developing Customer Relations Management (CRM) programs to improve customer satisfaction and ways to help companies become easier to do business with.

Why We Started HomeLife Partners…

“Elder care has become a top issue in our society today as it replaces child care as the number one concern for the men and women in today’s work force,” said Karen Galas, President of HomeLife Partners. “Already people are spending more time caring for their elderly parents than they did caring for their own children.” And this has been the case in Karen and Kim’s personal lives as they had experienced the extremely stressful process of trying to find qualified Caregivers to help within their own extended families.

The fact that in-home assistance is an unregulated industry should raise many concerns for those seeking help. “Anyone can be a “caregiver”, any company or agency can provide a “caregiver”, but do you really want people in your homes with vulnerable loved ones that are uninsured with unknown backgrounds?” advises Karen.

Only the best Caregivers are employed by HomeLife Partners. They are trained by Celi Adams, recipient of the Rosalynn Carter Institute’s 2001 Caregiver Award.
